Another ‘Game of Thrones’ Episode Hits Piracy Sites Before Premiere

16 August 2017 7:22 AM, PDT | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

HBO’s summer of cyber-woes continues: Episode six of “Game of Thrones” season seven has been leaked to internet piracy sites, four days ahead of Sunday’s premiere.

This time, it wasn’t hackers or rogue employees at a production facility: The “Game of Thrones” episode evidently leaked out after it was inadvertently published by HBO Nordic and HBO España services. According to HBO, the leak appears to have stemmed from a mistake by a third-party vendor in those territories.

Links to the leaked “Got” episode were posted to Reddit, with the copy shared via YouTube, Twitch and other streaming services. The Reddit posts were swiftly taken down. However, the segment has already been snatched and shared via torrent networks, according to U.K. newspaper the Independent, which reported that it verified the authenticity of what it said was an HD copy.

Why Was Josh Brolin Cut out of Suburbicon?

40 minutes ago | TVovermind.com | See recent TVovermind.com news »

Telling an actor that their scenes have been cut out of a movie entirely when there weren’t that many with them to begin with has to be kind of difficult. Worse still, when it’s a big-time celebrity like Josh Brolin it has to sting a little as the director to have to tell this wonderful actor that his parts just aren’t going to be making it into the final cut. But despite that, George Clooney had to bite the bullet and do what he could to ease the blow. Cutting Josh Brolin out of Suburbicon wasn’t something Clooney wanted to

‘The Tick’ Star Griffin Newman Opens Up About His First Big Break as an Unlikely Action Hero

40 minutes ago | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

When I first became friends with Griffin Newman, he was an actor whose biggest screen credit was the guy Kevin Costner spills coffee on in “Draft Day” — and I was a freelancer with no idea if I’d ever get a full-time job. Since then, things have improved for both of us, and with Newman’s new series “The Tick” debuting on Amazon, I’m in the unprecedented position of recusing myself from a review. (My colleague Maureen Ryan will be covering it instead). With that caveat, I thought it might be fun to chat with my friend about how much his life has changed, and how jumping from being a fan to having fans is a unique transition. I talked with Newman about his upcoming role starring as Arthur Everest in “The Tick” — a role that has already generated fan enthusiasm — and now that he’s making rent, his most fervent desire: an action figure of »

Joi “Sj” Harris Identified as Deceased Deadpool 2 Stuntwoman

The life of a stuntperson can’t be easy. Joi “Sj” Harris was lauded as the first African American female professional road racer and she was a professional stunt woman on the set of Deadpool 2. Unfortunately during filming a tragic accident cost Joi her life recently when a stunt went horribly wrong. Harris went through a plate glass window after losing control of her motorcycle during an action sequence. Unfortunately she was not wearing a helmet as the character she was portraying was not wearing a helmet in the scene either. It might seem a bit irresponsible of the director

A Look Back at NBC's Infamous Flop Emeril, From Co-Star Carrie Preston

Hey, remember when celebrity chef Emeril Lagasse had his own NBC sitcom that got yanked off the air after a couple months? Well, Carrie Preston does… because she was in it.

A decade before she won an Emmy for The Good Wife, Preston played kooky (and blonde!) food stylist B.D. Benson on Emeril, which lasted just seven episodes in the fall of 2001. Starring Lagasse as (what else?) a TV chef, Emeril was created by Designing Women alum Linda Bloodworth-Thomason, with a supporting cast that included TV veteran Robert Urich and future The View co-host Sherri Shepherd. ‘MTV Unplugged’ Plots Fall Return With Shawn Mendes (Exclusive)

Popular MTV franchise “Unplugged” will return to the network this fall. Shawn Mendes, who’s currently No. 1 at Top 40 radio with his latest single, “Nothing Holdin’ Me Back,” will kick off the reboot with a performance from downtown Los Angeles’ Theater at Ace Hotel. “MTV Unplugged Shawn Mendes” is scheduled to air on Sept. 8.

“MTV Unplugged,” which features music acts reinterpreting their songs — and usually a cover — acoustically, first aired in 1989 and has showcased memorable performances from the likes of Nirvana, Jay-z, Eric Clapton, Bruce Springsteen, Miley Cyrus, Tony Bennett, Mariah Carey, Katy Perry, Lil Wayne, and Adele, among others. But for 19-year-old Mendes, it was a clip of Pearl Jam performing on the show in 1992 that got him hooked on the concept — even if it took place years before he entered the world. “It wasn’t so much about the commercial, showman side of it; It was really about the music,” Mendes »

Foxtel and Fox Sports Australia are set to be combined into a new premium pay-tv sports and entertainment company Down Under, a move designed to pave the way for an eventual Ipo.
