Yes, the plot of this film was pretty straight forward. Yes, there were some unrealistic elements. However, if you are looking for a good suspense/action thriller to keep you on the edge of your seat, then Kidnap is a great movie. Once the action begins, your heart will not stop pounding until the end. Kidnap wasn't meant to be one of those movies with a twisty plot that's loaded with witty one-liners. It's a simple heart-warming portrayal of the lengths a mother will go through to save her child. Considering the plot was so basic, a mother pursuing her son's kidnappers, Halle Berry's fine acting job was able to provoke strong emotions throughout the movie. I was thoroughly entertained the entire time and that's what counted for me.
