Chadwick Boseman stated in an interview that he based his accent he uses for the Marvel character Black Panther from a film he was working on where he played a man from South Africa. It is clear now that this is the film to which he was referring.

Star Chadwick Boseman's character Jacob King is from South Africa. In the Marvel Cinematic Universe Chadwick plays another character who hails from the African continent, T'Challa the ruler of the fictional nation Wakanda (Wa-kan-da).

In addition to the video game "Payday 2" being explicitly featured in this movie, the game and the movie share some themes beyond organized crime and gratuitous violence, such as an important character who is a dentist but not only such.

Chadwick Boseman and Alfred Molina both starred in Marvel movies. While Boseman plays Black Panther in Captain America: Civil War (2016) and will have his standalone Black Panther (2018), Molina played Doc Oc in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 2 (2004). Molina has stated before that he wanted to reprise the role in future Spider-Man films, whilst Boseman has a five-picture deal with Marvel.
