Storyline

The tale takes place on the island of New Providence in the Bahamas. This unique place of piracy, theft and outlaws is reigned by the fearsome pirate captain Edward Teach, known as Blackbeard. But a scheme has been designed to throw Blackbeard from his throne. An assassin, Tom Lowe, is sent with the task to execute the pirate leader. However, as Lowe moves closer towards Blackbeard, he starts to admire his ideas and involvement in the rogue society. And of course, Lowe will not be Blackbeard's only enemy. Good show despite indifferent review
16 October 2014 | by (United Kingdom) – See all my reviews

I was very sceptical about watching this show, especially after seeing the less than great score on IMDb, however I must say I really enjoyed it. It made a nice change to have a show without the now customary gratuitous sex scenes which seem now to be added for ratings and not for the plot.

It is an interesting take on the Blackbeard story and I would have like to have seen a second series as I feel the characters had more to offer. i too watched Black Sails and enjoyed it, but I would say I enjoyed this slightly more.

Definateley worth a watch
