Overlong and uninteresting for the most part

"The 58th Annual Grammy Awards" is an Emmy-nominated television event from mid-February this year. It runs for a massive 150 minutes (2.5 hours) and features what America considered the finest in the past year of music. It's an annual event and it was packed with awards and live music, but still many of the awards weren't shown on screen because for that the show probably would have run another 2.5 hours afterward. In terms of the music, I was not too impressed. The things I may have liked such as the David Bowie tribute would have been more effective if they had been done by more talented artists like Lady Gaga and I am also not too sure if I liked the other winners that much like Taylor Swift or Bruno Mars who took home major awards. The one thing that I found least appealing was maybe how the show got used to promote a stage musical called Hamilton and while they were at it, they just gave a Grammy to them during the live show. What a surprise. I personally would have preferred this to be awards-only, no need for performances in my opinion. You can go to concerts, watch DVDs or music videos for this kind of stuff. And that way, also more artists could have gotten screen time to thank those who helped them so much. And also it could have been at least 30 minutes shorter. LL Cool J was the host, but this was really just in theory as his appearances were very rare. Maybe it's a good thing as I don't find him too entertaining. Now, after so much criticism, what was the best thing about the show? Touch to say as nothing really stood out. I kinda like the Motörhead tribute, so maybe this one. Apart from that, it wasn't enjoyable at all. Only worth seeing for the biggest awards show /Grammy fans. Thumbs-down from me. Not recommended.
