Harry Hamlin is coming to NBC. Deadline reports the Mad Men star has joined  Law & Order: True Crime.

From executive producer Dick Wolf, season one of the anthology drama will follow the events surrounding the trial of Erik and Lyle Menendez, two brothers who were convicted of murdering their parents in 1989. The cast also includes Julianne Nicholson, Anthony Edwards, Edie Falco, Gus Halper, and Miles Gaston Villanueva. »

Leslie Abramson, the spitfire Los Angeles defense attorney who represented one of Erik Menendez in two sensational murder trials, says she will not watch Edie Falco portray her on NBC’s “Law & Order True Crime: The Menendez Murders.”

“Oh boy,” Abramson told TheWrap when asked about true-crime TV movie. “I have nothing to say. Absolutely nothing. Goodbye.”

Before she hung up, she was asked “Are you going to watch it?” “No,” she said.

NBC and Dick Wolf Productions are betting big on Falco’s performance. »

‘Law & Order True Crime: The Menendez Murders’ Finds Its Lyle Menendez

Miles Gaston Villanueva has been cast as Lyle Menendez in this fall’s  “Law & Order True Crime: The Menendez Murders.”

Villanueva has guest-starred on various TV shows, including “Chasing Life,” “Jane the Virgin” and “Rosewood.” He recently co-starred opposite Al Pacino and Judith Light in the new play “God Looked Away,” which had its first full production at the Pasadena Playhouse last winter.

Villanueva is repped by Scott Zimmerman and Sdb Parters.

As previously announced, Gus Halper will play Erik Menendez and Edie Falco will star as defense attorney. »

‘Homeland’ Director Lesli Linka Glatter to Helm Dick Wolf’s NBC Menendez Brothers Series

Oscar and Emmy Award nominee Lesli Linka Glatter will direct the first two episodes of Dick Wolf’s “Law & Order: True Crime — The Menendez Murders,” Variety has learned.

Glatter is a prolific television director who has worked on a wide range of shows including “Homeland,” “Ray Donovan,” “Masters of Sex,” “The Walking Dead,” “True Blood,” “Mad Men” “Twin Peaks” and many others. She was nominated for an Emmy in 2010 for her work on “Mad Men,” and was nominated in 2013, 2015 and 2016 for her work on “Homeland,” on which she is also an executive producer. She was nominated for an Oscar in 1985 in the Best Live Action Short Film category for the film “Tales of Meeting and Parting.”

She is repped by Wme and Anonymous Content.

The first installment of the new true crime anthology series will consist of eight hourlong episodes focusing on the case of Lyle and Erik Menendez, brothers who were convicted of murdering their parents »
