Storyline

Pierre, a thirty-five-year-old dairy farmer, has taken over his parents'farm and devotes twenty-four hours a day to his cows. They are all for him so when an epidemic breaks out, threatening his herd, he gets terribly anxious. Even the assurances of Pascale, his veterinarian sister, that everything is fine, do not soothe his anxieties. And - quite unfortunately - his fears prove founded since one of his animals gets infected. The shock is severe because one cow touched means that his whole herd will be slaughtered. But Pierre is not going to let that happen. Written by Guy Bellinger

If you wish to become a cattle breeder, that's up to you...
3 September 2017 | by See all my reviews

The hell to be a cattle breeder in France, and maybe not only. The terrible burden of a young farmer, a breeder whose the cattle got infected by a lethal disease that could lead it to be totally shot to prevent a plague to spread out. You have here a very emotional movie pulled by flawless performances. I am sure that the director was himself involved in this peasant typical problem. Don't forget that in France, hundreds of breeders, farmers committed suicide after the collapse of their family industry. A so close to reality film.
